Product Owner Training

Recommended framework

  • 2-day Product Owner training
  • After transitioning: 5 x 2-hour, biweekly coaching

GOALS

  • To understand the role’s content, the related processes, activities, toolkits, and ceremonies
  • To get to know the leadership approach and skills of the role
  • Dedicated Product Owners are capable of conveying the deeply understood Why’s, the product vision, the requirements, and crystallise them in a way that makes the team eager to start the work – this is actually their most important job.
  • “If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.” (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)
  • A qualified Product Owner can deliver for the customer not only what they had asked for, but what they really need.
  • In order to be able to do this, they need to know how to prioritise, calculate business value, write and slice user stories. They also need to be familiar with the definition of MVP, the basic principles and methodologies of hypothesis testing and data-based decision making. All of this will be covered in the training.
  • Other frequent topics: story mapping, product vision, impact mapping, persona modelling, slicing user stories, managing customer expectations, visualisation techniques.
